LOCATION

The Château is perfectly positioned in the Manche, for you to access the beautiful local beaches and ports, as well as the historical D-Day sites.  Sainte-Mère Eglise is a mere 25 minutes drive and Utah beach is only 35 minutes away.  The Cotentin Peninsula also has the added advantage of being surrounded by sea and the temperate climate that goes with it. It is only 15 minutes to our nearest beach, where you can go beach-combing or boogie-boarding.

Montvason itself is a small, quiet hamlet nestled in the midst of the bocage (pastureland), it is extremely peaceful, save for some mooing and hooting from our family of owls.  There are lots of lovely walks around the estate, where guests have spotted deer, rabbits and red squirrels and there are some roman trails in the nearby countryside, for the keen ramblers.

The nearby villages of Sauxemesnil and Ruffosses have a café, restaurant and small convenience store.  The historic town of Valognes is 7 miles away and is a lovely, old, french town, with its  weekly markets, supermarkets and shops.
